Photography at a wedding has always been one of the things I think most important. There is something special about being able to flip through an album in five years and realizing that your hair really did look nice in that braid, or that the color blue you picked for your bridesmaid dresses was perhaps too bright.
My favorite kind of photography for weddings is a style called photojournalism. It's less posed than traditional wedding photography, and I appreciate the moments it can capture. The mother's face as she helps her daughter put on her dress, the little flower girl asleep on the floor, or the groom kissing his new wife's forehead. These are the moments that make weddings for me, and this kind of photographic style can capture those moments so beautifully.
I look at photos of people's weddings even if I don't know them. I love the dresses, of course, the flowers and silk, but even more, I love the faces. For me, that's what photojournalism does, it shows the faces. One of the best places for this style of photography is a website called Fearless Photographers. They have awards every year that go to wedding photographers that capture the emotion of the day, the beauty. They are some of the most incredible photographers I've ever seen for wedding photos.
Sadly I wasn't able to afford a Fearless Photographer, (because of their prowess they can be more expensive than an average photographer) but their site is one I highly recommend looking at. You can find them @ (http://www.fearlessphotographers.com/).
Whether you're looking for a Fearless Photographer in your area, or just need to be reminded what this wedding thing is all about, you should look them up. The pictures on the site are a good reminder to those stressed out with wedding details, they show the beauty in a wedding--the love.
